Nobody Is Perfect and That Includes Me, Point #1: When I’ve messed up showing up on live video and feel the temptation to delete it, I have to step outside of myself and analyze the situation.

Here’s an example of how nobody is perfect, including me. I just did a live video where I got on and tried to talk about vanity numbers and people using bots on Instagram. I tried to get everything out in a 15-minute live video, and it just turned to trash. The second I pressed the button to go live, I forgot everything I was going to talk about. My energy dropped to the ground and I felt disconnected from my message, my thought process was jumbled. It was all a mess and the second I got off the live video, I instantly thought of deleting the video. I could not leave that live video up there.

This is when I took a step outside of myself, and asked myself, why am I going to delete this video? Because of my ego? It makes me look bad? I decide to leave the video up because I want to show people even the people who have been doing live videos for years f*ck up. Even the people constantly doing lives manage to get on and f*ck up real bad. It happens to so many people but a lot of times we don’t see it, those messed up live videos get deleted.

I had an instance where I just could not put a sentence together, I had a brain fart. And that’s OKAY! So this live video I just did turns out to be a 15-minute video of me rambling, and it is terrible. I invite you to go watch it, every single human being needs to see more terrible live videos, too many are afraid to get up on live video.

Nobody is Perfect

Nobody Is Perfect and That Includes Me, Point #2: It’s going to happen, it just happened to me. A year of consistent live videos and I still bomb them sometimes.

It is completely okay if you get up on a live video and you f*cking bomb it. Again, nobody is perfect. Do not use messing up as an excuse to not show up on lives anymore. SHAKE IT OFF. It’s like riding a bike, live video takes practice! You have to do it over and over to become better.

No matter how good you get at live videos, you will always have some that turn out to be straight garbage. There will be times that you forget what you’re going to say, background situations happen, kids are crying, people are knocking on your door. Life is chaotic, but that’s what is beautiful about live video. Live video is like going to the zoo, people want to see into your life, they want to get to know you in real-time and connect. You are the lion and they want to watch you in your natural habitat.

If you ever f*ck up on live video, I suggest you get off, laugh your a** off for 15 minutes at yourself. Whatever you do, don’t take the video down, it’s a beautiful reminder that you are human. This is inspiring for someone who is terrified at live video, they see your video and realize, wow she’s human. She f*cks up just like me. If I can help one person in this world feel more comfortable on live video by making an a** of myself, I will do that. That’s how much I believe in the power of live videos.

Nobody Is Perfect and That Includes Me, Point #3: Live video is so powerful because it humanizes you in front of your audience.

I believe in the power of live videos, it does so much for your audience growth and the connection between you and your audience. If you’re terrified to go live, right now is the best time to go live. We are all stuck in our houses, we are all stuck in quarantine and dying for connection. Some of us are alone and we need a sense of feeling that we belong somewhere.

What is powerful about live video is that it humanizes you in front of your audience, we don’t need more superhumans right now, we need humans. We need people who will f*ck up, laugh it off, and keep going. We need people who can showcase their imperfections as much as their imperfections. If you’re reading this and resonating with this message, please go watch my 15-minute live video where I bombed. The worst thing I could’ve just done was to allow that live video to dictate how I show up.

We make mistakes, we fall, we stumble. After I f*cked up, I hop on another live video right after and pick myself back up. If you allow too much time to go between where you bomb a video and show up next, you are creating that pattern and story for yourself, don’t let that be the case.

Nobody Is Perfect and That Includes Me: The Bottomline

Nobody is perfect but I know someone needs to hear what you have to say today. Don’t prevent yourself from showing up just because you are scared.

Get up and go live anyway! You have my full f*cking support, I could care less if you get up on a live video and bomb it, there are so many people who don’t even have balls to go live. If you have the balls to go live, you are 10 steps ahead of everyone else.

I love you guys so much and thank you for being here with me. Be sure to tune in to episode 69 of the Fierce as F*ck Podcast for even more motivation and inspiration to show up as your fiercest, most authentic self!
